Oh Deer...adding to the collection

Due to popular demand "Oh Deer" is now available in other colour options...

I tried red but it just looked wrong, especially with the drips...these colour options will be available in the online shop very soon.

New Artwork - Watercolour Bokeh

I have finished a new artwork that I called "Watercolour Bokeh". I love the bokeh photography bluring effect used on lights and water, it inspired me to create my own version of bokeh using watercolour dots.....

I went a bit nuts with the colour options, but every colour combo I did just looked so good I couldn't choose between them....so I have included them all in my online shop and catalog.

And...if you need more colour variety I am adding this artwork to my custom colour range. Which means you can choose your own colour scheme!!!

Would love to know what you think.

Have a lovely day,

My Ava collection

I have been spending a bit of time adding to my existing artwork collections, I just finished two new additions to my Ava series...

Ava Ming

I'm a bit partial to Ava Ming I have to say...very happy with how she turned out! Not to take away from Ava Cream, I think she is lovely too.

Ava Cream

I have added these two new colour options to the existing Ava Brown and Ava Pink. All of the Ava's can be hung either portrait or landscape and are available in my online shop.

Ava Brown

Earlier this year a mini canvas of Ava Brown was purchased for the set of NBC's Parenthood season 3 which started in the States last week. I don't know when it is starting here...soon I hope, I am dying to see it! (the show & the artwork in the show :)

Ava Pink

I hope you like, have a great day lovelies!!!

New Artwork...Dreamy Wilderness

I hope you had a great weekend, I had my little boy home sick this week (which means he had his day sleeps...yay...they are few and far between these days, but he is much better now).  So day sleeps meant I got to spend a bit of time on the computer and finish an artwork that I've been working on.

I called it Dreamy Wilderness,  I wanted to escape from the urban landscape and create a fantastical landscape of pink leaves and blue flowers. Something a little dreamy...so here it is....

Dreamy Wilderness

I think it would look fabulous as a huge canvas print....and only $249 in my online shop for a 76x100cm canvas. Who said art has to be expensive???

Here it is on the wall of the lovely home from Dreamy Whites, click on the image to see more of her gorgeous home & blog.

I would love to know what you think...I must admit I am partial to this colour scheme.

Hope you have a lovely day.

Quote of the day...

Blogging during school holidays is going to be difficult...I may get a few in but they will be short and sweet :)

This isn't really a quote, technically it is a "recipe for life" or wisdom saying...isn't it great? I love it, and when I saw it I immediately thought...I want that in my kitchen, it's such a fun daily reminder that we get to choose what we put into each day.

So I put together a bus scroll version of the saying...just need to get it printed & hang it in the kitchen now!

This print will soon be available in my Urban Road shop & etsy shop have a great day.

New Artwork

Hope this day is finding all of you lovely people well, I am very excited to show you my new artwork. Inspired by the ikat fabric that I adore (who doesn't), it reminds me of my trip to India last year (but that is another post).

I have been tinkering around with this for a while and originally started with a pattern that was quite ornate (I love over the top) but as I played, I started removing bits & pieces until it became the simple pattern you see here. In this case I decided simple is better.

This artwork can be customised to the colour scheme of your choice. Here are some examples to give you an idea.

And if you have a huge wall you can put 2 together like this.

They come in canvas sizes 20x26cm - 76x101cm and will be available on my website & etsy store in the next couple of days.

Would love to know your thoughts, enjoy the remains of the day.

Quote of the Day

I had been thinking about doing a series of quotes and sayings for a while, but lacked motivation until I came across this one.

Quotes can be so inspirational and a great reminder of how to be a better friend, mother, wife, sister, daughter...you get the picture. I find it is so easy to get bogged down in my own life and general busyness that it is easy to forget what is really important...relationships!

This quote by C.S. Lewis reminds me that thinking about doing something for someone else is not really love (whilst good intentioned, it is not enough), it is DOING something for someone else. Love is action! So I am going to pin this up on my pin board as a reminder.

Here is the first installment of my quote series, I hope they will inspire and challenge you.

"Let Us Love - Sherbet"

Here is a chalk board version.

I prefer the sherbet colours myself...have a great Friday!

New Artwork - Dancing Anna

Sometimes creating art comes so easy...an idea pops into my head and within a few hours it's done...easy! And other times (like with this one) it takes months...I start, then I loose my inspiration and put it aside, then come back to it and try a few things...not totally happy with the result, put it aside again...and so on.

Until finally (and usually with a little help, thanks Janette & Maree) I am happy with the end result. This often happens when an illustration is particularly important to me, and this one is.

This is a portrait of the beautiful Anna, a gorgeous friend of mine's daughter. Anna is 17 and has left her home and family (in Australia) to study ballet in Washington DC. She is a beautiful dancer and an absolute sweet heart, I hope that this illustration reminds her how much she is loved and missed.

Here is a close up

This illustration is the first in a series of 3...hopefully the other 2 won't take as long :)

Hope you like it Anna,
hugs & kisses Suzie.
