Bring on Spring

I am so ready for spring...and it's only a day away...yay!!!
I think I need to set something like this up in my backyard, it looks absolutely glorious and I can just imagine lying back on those cushions sipping a sangria and munching popcorn while watching a flick. Although with all this rain I might need to add a few mozzie zappers to those lovely pendant lights. Might kill the mood you think??

Something else I am looking forward to is fixing up my garden, I have to admit that I am a fair weather gardener. Which means everything seems to die over winter then I have to start again. Maree I am sorry to report that our fairy garden is looking a little worse for wear and Thomas broke the gnome :(

But do not fear I am ready to get out there (once the sun is shining) and get stuck into it!

Entertaining and lounging outdoors with friends...can't wait!!

And I think a cabana like this by the pool....yep then everything will be perfect...lol

I'm sure you are all looking forward to fun in the sun....here's to having some!

New Artwork...Dreamy Wilderness

I hope you had a great weekend, I had my little boy home sick this week (which means he had his day sleeps...yay...they are few and far between these days, but he is much better now).  So day sleeps meant I got to spend a bit of time on the computer and finish an artwork that I've been working on.

I called it Dreamy Wilderness,  I wanted to escape from the urban landscape and create a fantastical landscape of pink leaves and blue flowers. Something a little dreamy...so here it is....

Dreamy Wilderness

I think it would look fabulous as a huge canvas print....and only $249 in my online shop for a 76x100cm canvas. Who said art has to be expensive???

Here it is on the wall of the lovely home from Dreamy Whites, click on the image to see more of her gorgeous home & blog.

I would love to know what you think...I must admit I am partial to this colour scheme.

Hope you have a lovely day.

Commissioned for an original artwork

I believe I mentioned that I have been busy for the last few weeks, I had been working on a few projects and I am very excited to share one of them with you now.

A client of mine commissioned me for an original art work, she gave me the colour scheme and her only other request was abstract, other than that I had total creative freedom. I was very excited when she asked, then it suddenly dawned on me that it had been a while since I had created an artwork...with no digital editing.

However, the nerves subsided once I got started and here is the end result which I am pleased to report she is very happy with.

The canvas is 75x100cm...hard to tell size in a photo like this :)

I had so much fun that I have already started another one...can't wait to show you when it's done.

Have a lovely day.

Kids in the morning

I am happy to report that shortly after my vent my website was back up and running...phew!!!

This morning I woke up to the cutest scene...my kids are early risers like 5:30 am and this year I have arrived at the stage where they can get up & I can stay in bed (this is a very good and long awaited stage).

Anyhow, every morning I wake up to find them playing some kind of role play game together, sometimes it's school's or cafe's or Library...my oldest is usually the ring leader. I really enjoy waking up to find them playing so well together (most of the time :)

This morning they discovered a new game....washing up.

Well it was a combination of washing up and cooking...soooo cute I had to share.

I hope you had a lovely morning

Am I allowed to vent???

I believe it was Janette from My Sweet Prints that gave me this post card...well here it goes....

I set up some email hosting with my web hosting site last week and couldn't get it to work...no surprise really. So when I emailed them for help on Monday they replied quite quickly and said they resolved the problem.

Great I thought, I don't have time to test it out today but will get it sorted soon. In the mean time I am super excited about my first add campaign in Adore Home Magazine and discovered they featured me as well...I was super excited and everything was rosy.

Hmmm...it's Tuesday evening, I might just check my website stats...WHAT MY WEBSITE IS DOWN ...AAAHHHH how long has it been down???? Why is it down??? What the.....

It seems that something was set up incorrectly with my email hosting and as a result my website has been down for the last two days. Aaarrrrhhhh.

Anyway...I managed to get them on the phone and it should be back up soon. I don't understand why these things always take 2-4 hours to reset.

I feel better now that I have unloaded...I will feel even better once my site is back in action.

I hope you have had a more relaxing start to your day!

My Favourite Illustrators

I'm back into the swing of things after a holiday and two very busy weeks. I thought I would share with you another of my favourite illustrators...Raphael Vicenzi aka My Dead Pony.

Raphael is a self taught illustrator (I just love that he is self taught) who lives and works in Brussels Belgium. Hmmm....I seem to like illustrators from Belgium if you remember my last favorite illustrators post.

I just adore Raphael's work, his portraits are divine and the way he layers typography, watercolour and markers/pen while also talking about themes that are close to his heart really gets me going!!

Here are some of my favorites...

If you would like to see more of his work you can check it out here

Thanks for stopping by.
